Identifying Influences to Information Security Framework Adoption: Applying a Modified UTAUT

Understanding the factors that influence the adoption of information security frameworks has been explored, but the earlier study was unable to determine significant influences that affected which framework was actually used in an enterprise. This study re-examines the approach taken in the earlier study and makes modification to the UTAUT model, to disregard influences when a framework's use is mandated. This study found that the modified UTAUT model both identified influencing factors towards the selection of a framework, but also improved the explanation of variance for the dependent variables in the UTAUT.
