Miniaturized Semicircular Disc Patch Antenna Designed with Sector-Shaped Metamaterials

摘要
A miniaturized semicircular disc patch antenna is designed which is loaded with sector-shaped mushroom metamaterials. Full wave simulations reveal that a semicircular disc patch with size of 0.234 lambda(0) x0.117 lambda(0) enables the antenna to resonate at 3.511GHz. The antenna bandwidth is 2.3% and the peak gain is about 5.6dBi. The proposed miniaturized semicircular disc patch antenna can meet the needs of 5G mobile communications at 3.5GHz band.
