Some QoS aspects of multimedia communication

摘要
The quality of multimedia communication services has been considered in this contribution. Abilities of assuring the proper parameters of network operation have been analysed using a traffic engineering point of view. QoS mechanisms have been shortly discussed, then the QoS evaluation procedure has been described. Finally, various aspects of QoS have been examined using sample applications of multimedia communications. It has been stated that QoS mechanisms can be successfully applied in such services as VoIP and in case of network games the required bandwidth is not a crucial parameter unless users exchange other information.
