Technical Ranking of Oil Reservoirs for CO2 EOR by a GRA-based Methodology

摘要
Carbon dioxide enhanced oil recovery (EOR) has the potential to allow the continued production from oil fields while reducing CO2 emissions to the atmosphere. In order to initially evaluate the suitability of a large number of candidate reservoirs, a quick assessment procedure is needed. To the best of the authors' knowledge such procedure in which reservoir uncertainties can be managed by utilizing uncertainty theories has not been developed. For the purpose of overcoming this literature gap, the authors propose a new nondeterministic method by utilizing the grey systems theory (as one of the recent uncertainty theories) in grey relational analysis (GRA; as one of the common procedures in multi attribute decision making). After identification of the key parameters, the application of the proposed methodology into a real case study is illustrated step by step.
