Effect of pressure on the magnetic and structural properties of X2CrNiMo17-12-2 austenitic stainless steel prepared by powder metallurgy method

摘要
Austenitic stainless steels prepared by powder metallurgy method have excellent mechanical and surface properties and paramagnetic behaviour. These steels can be exposed to phase transformations when the steels deformed by mechanical, heat treatment and magnetic processing. Their properties of these austenitic stainless steels change with phase transformations. In this study, mechanical (only hardness measurement), magnetic and structural properties of the X2CrNiMo17-12-2 austenitic stainless steel used widely in industrial areas prepared by powder metallurgy method were investigated. It aimed to effect of pressure on the mechanical, magnetical properties and structural variations (i.e. phase transformations) of this austenitic stainless steel. This austenitic stainless steel pressed up on the 400 and 600 MPa pressures and sintered under inert (Ar) atmosphere at 1200 degrees C for an hour. It was observed that the prepared austenitic stainless steel sample on the high pressure had high hardness value and more ferromagnetic behaviour and the structure of this sample showed more martensitic phased-structure to the other press-sintered austenitic stainless steel.
