Self-similar boundary layer flows and beat transfer in the power law non-Newtonian fluid

摘要
This paper shows that the classical thermal boundary layer equation of pseudo-plastic non-Newtonian fluid could not be used to describe the self-similar heat transport. The types of potential flows necessary for self-similar solutions are determined and the self-similar thermal boundary layer equations are developed for the first time, which may be characterized by a power law relationship between thermal diffusivity and velocity gradient. Both analytical and numerical solutions are presented and the associated transfer characteristics are discussed.
