摘要
A transient mathematical and numerical model for crevice corrosion is presented. The model is general in format and applicable to a variety of metallic and electrolyte systems. It allows consideration of electrode kinetics including both cathodic and anodic reactions with an active/passive transition. Chemical reactions in solution are generalized to facilitate simulation of a variety of electrolytes. The model is applied to experimental data on crevice corrosion initiation in stainless steel and to experiments on active crevice corrosion of iron.
