A new species, Meristolohmannia abbreviata n. sp. collected in Hainan Province, China, is described. It can easily be distinguished from two other species of the genus by the short and smooth notogastral setae, especially the very short anterior exobothridial (exa) setae. A key is given to distinguish all species of the genus Meristolohmannia Balogh and Mahunka, 1966 (Acari: Oribatida: Lohmanniidae).
