Development of Reinforcement Design System for Lining Structures Based on OpenGL

The reinforcement design system for lining structures based on OpenGL is developed. Firstly, the development of 3D graphic system for displaying finite element mesh based on OpenGL is introduced. Three major dynamic foundation class libraries, namely basic math library, graphic display library and geometric kernel library, are included. The finite element mesh's display algorithm is presented. Then, the structural internal force solving algorithm using FEW calculation results is put forward. Finally, the reinforcement approach for lining structures under different working conditions is given. Further, a case study is done. The reinforcement design for bifurcation lining structures at a large scale pumped storage power plant is illustrated. The results prove the efficiency of the reinforcement design system. The finite element mesh displayed in the developed graphic system can be translated, rotated and zoomed in real time by mouse operation. The select and feedback operation is realized, too. The proposed reinforcement algorithm is able to conduct reinforcement design on any designated cross-section without manual intervention. Therefore, the highly automated reinforcement design on complex structures is accomplished.
