Alan Pelz-Sharpe, lead analyst of the ECM Report 2010, discusses about Microsoft's SharePoint and reveals the features of its 2010 edition. He believes that SharePoint 2010, certainly will offer a improved web services architecture and the product will be more scalable with the functionality such as improved records management or central metadata management. He explains that some organizations are completely satisfied with SharePoint 2007 version but some are disappointed due to lack of governance management, and scalability issues. It is believed that SharePoint 2010 version with an Ajax UI will be a success as it will provide the channel with many new options to develop solutions and to sell into the small and medium-sized business (SMB) market. He states that Microsoft needs to encourage its customer base to influence them to move to new version from the 2007 version.
