摘要
This paper introduces the needs of information interoperability on advanced network-based applications. It describes the meaning of syntactic and semantic interoperability. The paper shows that the integration of agent technology and ontology can improve the semantic interoperability of information. It presents the layered model for an agent-based information interoperability system.
