摘要
Hodge identifies an apparent paradox between improvements in mining companies' social performance and an increase in company-community conflict. I appreciate his emphasis on relational capabilities and attitudes, as well as the ambition to bring Rawlsian philosophy to bear. But it is worth reconsidering the two pillars of his argument: Patient dialogue between mining companies and communities is tougher and scarcer than Hodge imagines. (C) 2014 Elsevier Ltd.
