Pancreatic tuberculosis - Not cancer

Mycobacterium tuberculosis infects, about one third, of the world's population, potentially causing both pulmonary and disseminated disease. Patients with pancreatic tuberculosis often present with nonspecific, symptoms, such as low-grade fever, weight loss, and abdominal pain, and without a history of tuberculosis or, pancreatic disease. Pancreatic cancer is the usual diagnosis until results of tests following fine-needle biopsy or surgery are available. Pancreatic tuberculosis rather than cancer is more common in younger Patients. Treatment. with antituberculous medications usually produces favorable results.
