摘要
Unit cell parameters and densities were measured in the homogeneity range of the solid solution Pd(B) (space group Fm (3) over bar m) up to mole fraction of baron equal to 0.18. The unit cell parameter increases and the density decreases with baron content. From these numerical data it follows that the number of atoms in the unit cell is larger than four and increases with baron mole fraction, implying that boron dissolves interstitially in palladium. The data also suggest that baron occupies the octahedral atomic position (b).
