摘要:
Twenty-five patients with hand dermatitis participated in a pilot study utilizing a new skin barrier cream containing white petrolatum. Each patient received treatment with SBR-Lipocream(TM), which was applied three to four times daily for a period ranging from one to four weeks. All patients completed pre- and postsurvey questionnaires and were evaluated by a staff physician prior to, and upon completion of, the study. All patients completed the evaluation. Results of the survey indicated a general dissatisfaction with currently utilized moisturizers and a positive response to the skin barrier cream: 96 percent believed that this cream helped their condition. Based on this response, further evaluation of this cream's ability to manage this often-chronic condition and prevent exacerbation and flares appears warranted.
