摘要
Elastofibroma dorsi (ED) is a benign soft tissue poorly circumscribed tumor of the chest wall. ED is characterized by hyperproliferation of fibroblastic tissue. The tumor is composed of collagen and coarse enlarged elastic fibers. The pathogenesis of the lesion is multifactorial. It clinically manifests as a palpable tumor in the infrascapular or subscapular region with occasional pain and discomfort, especially during mobilization of the shoulder. We report a case of a 70-year-old manual worker male with chronic thoracic pain and palpable bilateral symmetrical dorsal subscapular masses. Magnetic resonance showed the presence of bilateral soft tissue tumors and trucut biopsy showed ED. The lesions were completely surgically excised.
