摘要
Cyclodiene pesticide dose not easily break down and tend to accumulate in soils. It is also proved toxic to an animals including human. However, the crops, especially carrot and cucumber, are easy to absorb persistent pesticide. We investigate the persistent agrichemicals (aldrin, dieldrin, endrin) in a farm field in Tokyo, Japan. Aldrin and Endrin had been used for agrichemical in 30 to 40 years ago. The surface soil in this field is Kanto-loam and thickly distributed. 0.06 [mg/kg] of dieldrin was detected in only a shallow part of the depth and the other pesticide was not detected even aldrin. Dieldrin was not directly used as pesticide but closely related to aldrin. The epoxidation of aldrin in the environment leads to the more persistent dieldrin. Aldrin is not toxic to insects but it is oxidized in the insect to form dieldrin. Only dieldrin last for several decades in soil.
