A design of wideband folded dual monopole antennas for wireless communications

摘要：
This article proposes anew structure for a wideband antenna, featuring omnidirectional radiation characteristics based on a single plane structure that can be used in integrated circuits. The proposed. antenna is a folded dual monopole based on a monopole antenna structure, which was modified into a dual monopole structure in order to increase the impedance bandwidth. In this study, the dual monopole structure was folded at each end so as to change the reactance value caused by the coupling between. lines. The impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna covers from 1.98 to 4.05 GHz. The new antenna can therefore be used for WiBro and satellite DMB bands.
