Application of pulsed field gradient diffusion edited NMR has been successfully used for the analysis of solid-phase resin. A comparison between the LED and bipolar LED pulse sequence is presented. Compounds that were not covalently attached to the resin, including the solvent system, can be effectively attenuated using the bipolar LED sequence without signal distortion. The resulting proton spectrum can then be interpreted as compounds that were attached to the solid support. This methodology has also been demonstrated with the use of the bipolar LED edited COSY sequence in which COSY correlations from only the attached compounds are observed.
