摘要:
Hunger and satiety regulate the intricate energy homeostasis in order to maintain a balance between energy requirements and supply. Several central and peripheral hormones and peptides have been implicated to maintain and modulate this complex phenomenon. Furthermore, the system responds to different foods and food components to optimize the process of digestion and absorption of nutrients and rebalance the homeostasis / physiological state in a delicate manner Dietary fibre and protein have been demonstrated to exert beneficial effects on subjective hunger and satiety responses thus providing a diet based option to tackle the alarmingly increasing prevalence of overweight and obesity.
