摘要
To date, considerable progress has been made in the study of the phase transitions of aqueous atmospheric particles. Recent efforts and progress for laboratory investigations have focused on the nucleation mechanisms of chemical systems that have been chosen as surrogates for polar stratospheric clouds. Laboratory results have been incorporated with some success in mesoscale and synoptic models of polar stratospheric cloud (PSC) formation. The best quantitative models in the troposphere exist for orographic cirrus clouds formed in mountain lee waves.
