Cerebral metastasis rarely occurs in paraganglioma. We report the first patient, to our knowledge, with both skull and brain metastases, who underwent abdominal and skull, as well as brain lesion resection over 5 years, with a satisfactory outcome at the 10-year follow-up. We describe the characteristics and explore the possible underlying mechanisms to assist in future diagnosis and treatment of paraganglioma. (C) 2009 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
