摘要
This study compared the perceptions of first-year and fifth-year medical students on the attributes of an effective medical teacher. The two highest-ranked attributes in both classes were the ability to motivate students and being passionate about teaching. Both classes also agreed that an effective teacher was one who could link basic science or theory to clinical practice. More first-year students preferred handouts and more fifth-year students selected attributes such as showing respect and empathy, and encouraging participation.
