摘要
A new series of the Mannich bases of 5-nitro-2-furfuraldehyde semicarbazone with sulphonamides (3a-3e) has been synthesised and evaluated as antimicrobial agents. Structures of all the newly formed compounds were established on the basis of elemental analysis and spectroscopic data (UV, IR and (1)H NMR). All compounds proved to have great potentialities as excellent antibacterial agents and were found to be low lethal as ascertained by LD(50) test. The results obtained are compared with those obtained for the parent sulphonamides.
