摘要
The emergence of antibiotic-resistant strains of Campylobacter is cause for concern in human medicine. The selection for or spread of these strains in animals or the environment is therefore an important public health problem. The gastro-intestinal flora of poultry and pigs are thought to be the main reservoirs for this organism. The organism has developed various strategies to resist antibiotics. In the future, veterinarians responsible for production animals will need to take steps to avoid selection for or spread of these resistant organisms.
