This article will show how the use of plans was developed in the haut-Maine in the eighteenth century. Besides maps of lords domains, one can find maps used to resolve judiciary-matters in the records. In that case, the iconographic document is used as a proof wich completed written acts. In opposition to this introduction, reactions changed: some recognized the map as a relevant tool whereas others rejected it. So, this article will show how the map became a tool of the judiciary arsenal, at the eve of the French Revolution.
