摘要
Optimal shape of an elastic rod subjected to flexural-torsional buckling is studied. The rod with constant-cross section is the strongest rod for the case when a rod is subjected to equal end moments only. For the case when the rod is loaded with compressive force and the moment, optimal shape is determined by numerical integration for several values of parameters. In deriving the optimality conditions, the Pontriyagin's principle was used. (c) 2007 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
