摘要：

The purpose of this Communication is to present a survey and following analysis of working accidents and occupational diseases in the sphere of the Extractive Industry, particularly in the sector of open pit quarries for aggregates exploitation. A comparison with other types of national industries was made. It was also analysed a complete productive process, through a detailed characterization of all the operations included in it. For each operation the involving risks were evaluated and proposals for preventive measures were made.
