摘要
The article offers the conceptual issues of the developed method for determining the minimum power level of the static var compensator (SVC) in the electric power supply system of the steel-making electric arc furnace (EAF). This method was used to examine the validity of the chosen preset power level of the static var compensator at two domestic enterprises. The research work was carried out using simulation models of the complexes shaft furnace (SF-150) and SVC of the metallurgical plant of CJSC Severstal - Balakovo light-section rolling mill and EAF-120-SVC of PJSC Asha metallurgical plant. The simulation models were developed using the Simulink application of the Matlab mathematical software. The research group carried out comparative analysis of the obtained results and determined the values of power level for the static var compensator enabling compensator's balance of the asymmetrical load in most operating modes of the EAF.
