摘要
The aim of this study was to examine the ability of macroporous resin adsorption (MRA) to (1) adsorb and purify apple polyphenol, a natural flavonoid with antioxidant properties, and (2) optimize apple polyphenol purification. The adsorption and desorption rates were obtained as indices to compare five types of macroporous resins (MR) on the basis of adsorption and desorption performances of apple polyphenol. Apple polyphenol purification involved three independent variables, namely, flow rate, adsorption concentration, and pH; these variables were examined through response surface methodology. Results showed that optimal conditions were as follows: HPD-100 MR, 2.5 BV/hr flow rate, 0.44 Abs adsorption concentration, and pH 2.13. Under these conditions, the adsorption rate might increase to 95.27%. Therefore, MRA may serve as an effective method to separate and purify some active components from plants.
