Let E-sigma(t) denote the error term for the mean square formula of /zeta(sigma + it)/ in the critical strip 1/2 < sigma < 1, We study the mean value formula of the function /E-sigma(t + U) - E-sigma(t)/ for short intervals, which is the analogue of Jutila's result [6].
