Recent QCD results above the Z0 from OPAL

We present some of the OPAL QCD results at root s = 172 GeV, event shape variables, charged particle spectra and multiplicities. We determine the strong coupling strength to be alpha(s)(172 GeV) = 0.093 +/- 0.005(stat.) +/- 0.006(sys.), the mean charged multiplicity to be [n(ch)](172 GeV) = 25.92 +/- 0.56(stat.) +/- 0.81(sys.) and the position of the peak in the xi(p) = In(1/xp) distribution to be xi(D)(172 GeV) = 4.02 +/- 0.04(stat.) +/- 0.02(sys.). The results are compared with data taken at lower centre-of mass energies and analytic QCD and Monte Carlo predictions.
