摘要
Biomimetic crystallization of a bone-like apatite was successfully carried out on the hydrophobic surface of solid cholesterol. The crystallization experiments were performed from aqueous solutions of modified simulated body fluid (mSBF) in a constant-composition double-diffusion (CCDD) device. The chemical composition of mSBF was equal to 4 times the ionic concentration of human blood plasma and contained physiological amounts of glucose and bovine serum albumin (BSA). The formed precipitates consisted of poorly crystallized carbonateapatite (CAP). We believe that this experimental approach might be useful for the in vitro simulation of pathological vascular calcification.
