摘要：

This paper aims at discussing the presence of information in Journalism studies, pointing to some existing gaps when an investigative search about the topic is carried out beyond its content dimension. Hence, it is developed a chain of conceptual and historical aspects in print journalism researches, considering the important role that they have in the formation of general epistemological issues that permeate this scientific area. In this way, taking news as an object of study, some concepts such as knowledge, journalistic information and textual genres are entangled in order to build a panorama which allow the thinking of information in such context and beyond it.
