Within the scope of the issue of crustation of slurry and ammonia emission, two commercial manure additives were tested on their ability to solve those problems. The influence of Tradilyse and Pit Boss on manure composition, homogeneity and ammonia emission were measured. Tradilyse is a composition of bacteria and Pit Boss is based upon hypersoluble Cu. There are no significant results of the additives on ammonia emission. Ammonia emission increased with increasing environment and manure temperature independently of any additive. The effect of the additives on manure homogeneity and crustation was obvious.
