Effect of neodymium on mechanical behavior of Mg-Zn-Zr magnesium alloy

摘要
The effects of neodymium on mechanical behavior of Mg-Zn-Zr magnesium alloy were presented. The Mg-Zn-Zr alloy with and without an addition of 3% Nd used in the investigation was produced by induction melting in magnesia crucibles under an argon atmosphere and cast into round bars. It was found that at all temperatures used in the investigation, an addition of 3% Nd can significantly enhance the yield strength of the alloy.
