摘要
Two debris flow disasters in 1999 in the Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan have been investigated. About the causes of debris flow occurrence, the combination of an antecedent precipitation and an intense rainfall in a short time was very decisive. The existence of spring water through the fissured bedrock had also great effect. Also the characteristics of debris flow movements have been analyzed, and then some countermeasures for disaster prevention were proposed.
