Endoscopic surgery of the anterior skull base

Endoscopic approach to the anterior skull base is the shortest, most direct and minimal traumatic route. It is well tolerated by patients. This technique is suitable for cystic, necrotic and soft tissue lesions. Combination of endoscopic endonasal approach and external one is very useful et large, solid and vascularized tumors. Wide experience with FESS and perfect knowledge of anatomy are mandatory for safe surgery. Surgeon should be able to perform en external approach in case of some probleme. Endoscopic method was used by 54 patients with lesions of the anterior skull base.
