CORRELATION AND PATH COEFFICIENT ANALYSIS AND REGRESSION IN RADISH (RAPHANUS SATIVUS L.)

摘要
The present study had been carried out at vegetable research field, Department of Landscape Design, Agriculture and Forestry College, Mosul University, through the fall growing months of 2019/2020, to investigate genetic architecture in seven genotypes of the radish under conditions of Neneveh governorate, North of Iraq. Results indicated that the total roots yield had phenotypic and genetics positively correlated with each of the root diameter, total chlorophyll content and root weight. Root weight characteristics had positively correlated with phenotypic and genetically significant both with the root diameter characteristic and the total chlorophyll content and amounted to the phenotypic correlation. The length of the fruit (siliqua) has been positively associated, genetically and phenotypically, with the characteristic of the number of seeds for every one of the fruits, which reached (r = 0.464) and (r = 0.459), respectively, but it was positively correlated with the rest of the traits under study. The study had shown that there was a positive genetically significant and phenotypic correlation for characteristic of siliqua diameter with total seed yield per unit area, and siliqua weight, the number of seeds in every fruit (i.e., siliqua). And a negative correlation with the characteristic of the fruits number in every one of plants. In addition to that, results have indicated that there was positive direct effect significantly between plant height, length, diameter and root weight had a direct positive impact upon the total yield of radish, which amounted to 0.2581, 0.283, 0.0486 and 1.391, respectively, and positive direct effect significantly between total seed yield /donum and siliqua diameter, number of fruits (siliquas) in every one of plants and seeds weight for each plant (0.3636, 0.3950 and 0.8266), respectively and negative indirect effect significantly with fruit length.
