摘要：

High-Ca2+ microdomains at ER-mitochondrial junctions have been presumed to exist. Csordas et al. (2010) and Giacomello et al. (2010) report the Ca2+ dynamics at the outer mitochondrial membrane surface in response to IP3-mediated Ca2+ release and store-mediated Ca2+ influx with several expected and some unexpected findings.
