Studies on oxidation behaviour of TiB2 powder

摘要
The oxidation behaviour of TiB2 powder was investigated. The TiB2 powder was characterised by differential thermal analysis and thermogravimetric analysis in the air atmosphere. The TiB2 powder exhibited distinct oxidation behaviours depending on the temperature. At temperatures between 76.4 and 175.4 degrees C, there was decreasing weight as 0.5652 wt-%. At temperatures between 409.4 and 604.1 degrees C, also 604.1 and 724.5 degrees C, increasing weight as 2.73 and 6.041 wt-% respectively was observed as a result of the formation of TiO2 (s) and B2O3 (l).
