Lithium-ion based batteries are today's most used energy storages for electronic devices such as tablets and smartphones for example. Moreover, they are the main driver in the automobile industry for the manufacturing of electric and hybrid cars as well as in the energy revolution. The focus is put upon the exploration of different electrolytes and electrode materials in the Lithium-ion technology. A more powerful alternative could be the lithium-oxygen battery. This system can be successfully used and experimented with at school and in higher education using different experimental setups.
