Direct synthesis of titanium-modified hybrid periodic mesoporous organosilicas from 1,2-bis(triethoxysilyl) ethane and titanium isopropoxide

摘要
In this work, we first prepared titanium-modified hybrid periodic mesoporous organosilicas (Ti-modified PMOs) by direct synthesis from co-condensation of 1,2-bis(triethoxysilyl)ethane (BTESE) and titanium isopropoxide (Ti) using cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide as a structure directing agent. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns and transmission electron microscopy images showed well-defined hexagonal symmetry mesopore structures for the Ti-modified PMOs. The hexagonal pore structure was maintained up to the loading of 0.3 mole ratio of Ti/BTESE. The UV-Vis spectra indicated the successful incorporation of titanium into the hybrid PMOs, which is also supported by X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS). The surface area and pore diameter were reduced with increasing loading of titanium. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
