摘要
Gyrotrons are commonly considered as expensive, bulky, and technically complicated devices due to high power, voltage, and high magnetic fields. However, if high output power is not needed, gyrotrons can look much simpler, and can operate at low voltage, despite the relativistic nature of induced cyclotron radiation explored. In this talk, the numerous theoretical and experimental results for low-voltage gyrotron operation are considered. Using accumulated experience, the feasibility of the millimeter-wave gyrotron with low voltage and power consumption is discussed.
