摘要
Present days, burning of agricultural waste is causing climatic degradation leading to increase in pollutants. Hence, waste management is one of the key solutions for burning of crop residue. Conversion of agricultural waste to valuable products (porous carbon) is prime research theme at present. Surface morphological characteristics, chemical characteristics and adsorption capacity are the vital parameters to analyze the quality of activated products. The current review focused on the synthesis of activated carbon from lignocellulosic wastages. The adsorbancy nature of activated charcoal and activated carbon towards various harmful elements from aqueous solutions and environment was critically examined. (C) 2021 Elsevier Ltd.
