摘要
AISI 440 is well known for its high strength and hardness with high carbon content. It is used for applications in bearings, knife blades. In this paper, the mechanical properties and the micro structureof AISI 440 steel with the tempering process is presented. The results showed that the microstructure of AISI 440 steel contains the mixture of martensite and the retained austentite, the austenite were expanded in the hardened martensited matrix. The mechanical properties like tensile strength, elongation and hardness were also discussed. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
