摘要
In this paper a number of test implementations at the IPP are described and discussed that support the view that Virtual Reality (VR) and Computer Augmented Reality (CAR) techniques are excellent tools for the support of maintenance of and training at technical systems. They comprise: interactive glasses, augmented views of robots for long-distance control, 3D-visualizations of abstract data, applications of motion parallax, and a low cost implementation of the 'cave'-technique. The usefulness of these techniques is supported by considerations about the information necessary for the various work-processes. Copyright (C) 2001 IFAC.
