摘要
The restoration of power after fault needs a proper protection scheme which involves different element such as, relay and circuit breaker. The supportive actions of these elements necessitate correctly identifying and isolating faulty section. The fault or an unwanted disturbance can create transient in the system which, if not identified and consequently not been removed, can cause serious damage to the various system components. This paper considers a synchronized phasor measurement based protection scheme which first identifies faulty section then classifies different types of fault. This will provide a quick solution to isolate a faulty section. The proposed algorithm is investigated on 39-bus New England system and the results obtained are found to be promising.
