摘要
Decades of strong economic growth and urbanization have changed many historic villages. With recent rural construction projects, lower grade historic buildings in China villages are faced with increasing challenges, including being rebuilt or demolished in the name of improvement. The stakeholder is an interesting point of entry for the discussion of historic buildings and has been the subject of little research thus far. Through field surveys of historic buildings in three selected villages and qualitative interviews with stakeholders, this research analyzes the reasons behind different attitudes towards lower grade rural historic buildings, provides some suggestions for future preservation and development.
