摘要：

This paper shows that it is possible to reduce the weight of automobile wheel discs by using high strength steels. The forming conditions have to be adapted to these new steel grades. The fatigue behaviour of the wheel is primarily determined by the choice of the forming sequence. Numerical design methods are presented, which allow to predict in-service behaviour.
